Night, your life isn't complete, yes I know it sounds kinda harsh but WoW it was great, can't wait to watch and analyze it some more. Anyhow, finaly back at school, getting back into the rhythm of things, it's my last year and I'm quite exited at the possibilities before me... more later... did I mention WATCH LADY IN THE WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanna hear peoples thoughts and comments!! feel free to disagree, I love discussions!
| Can anyone relate to this...school is over for the semester, and the promise of summer and all the great things I want to do is ahead, however, it seems to me that if I was to accomplished even half of what I dream of attaining during the summer break it would be awesome but in reality or I guess I should say usually, August is there before I know it and I cut my summer loses and the new set of dreams for the upcoming semester take over.... My goal this summer is not to let that happen! I still, however, think it's important to dream big and shoot high but with realistic expectations. It is when we become apathetic that NOTHING happens. So my encouragement to everyone, make some goals for the summer, shoot for something, or you'll find yourself, in August, depressed, having accomplished nothing besides the further breaking in of the couch in the TV room or some random outings with various acquaintances amounting to not much. | | |

| 2 WEEKS OF SCHOOL LEFT!!! TWO! THEN FINALS!!!
Don't you love it when someone starts out with an exclamatory statement... I'd never do that, too typical. But yeah, I can't belive that will be it for the semester.
My Parent's came down to visit this past weekend and it was GREAT! I showed them around liberty and Lynchburg a bit and gave them a taste of life here. They stayed over at Dr. Alban's house and with only the few hours I was there, My dad and the Doc struck up a nice little friendship. Now anybody that knows my dad sees his passion for books, reading, philosophy, and the church. He is a walking volume and you can't talk for more that a few minutes before you find yourself thinking about and analyzing something whether you want to or not sometimes. I guess that is why sometimes I relate to the character of Indy so much, cause my dad, although quite different of course, sometimes reminds me proffesor Jones and his quest for the grail and knowledge in general, the pursuit of the grail in his case would be the pursuit of God and ways to help the Church. I was privee to a tenis match of theological ideas for about 2 hours or more on friday night and then again after dinner on Saturday. I haven't had REAL mashed potatoes, like actually from a potato that was mashed in person, in a long time. Thanks Mrs. Alban! Even though I was still a little sick from the last two days, it was a great weekend, it meant alot that my Parents took the time out to come all the way here just to see their kid, take him out to dinner, and show him some love and support. The weekend concluded with a barbeque at Kristen's house, which turned into a theo Q and A about worship and the church with a bunch of us there including Justin, Brandon, Joel, Mr. Williams, My Dad and Myself in which we got into some pretty relevant topics as we burned in the sun behind Kristen's place.
It the practical stuff, the actions, even small one (sometimes especialy small ones), that mean a ton more to me that words do sometime, and it hit me more after they left, how much it meant for them to come out here. It reminded me that I need to do the same for others as... well you know. Words are sometimes unnessesary and occationally anoying, without the backup of actions (Don't get me wrong, words are important as well).
One more thing, if you've never watched the show Firefly that ran only 14 episodes and became the movie Serenity, you are missing out, it has FAST become one of my all time favourite shows. The characters, situations, writing, and the world that Writter and Director Joss Whedon has created is unbelievable. RENT IT NOW!!! The only negative repercussion is that you will be sad when ep 14 rolls around and you realize there is no more cause FOX did'n't know a good thing when they had it, put it in a horrible time slot, and just plain seemed to do everything they could to make it fail. Here's hoping someone takes it up or at least we get another movie.
| The two weeks of hell are at an end, though things are always moving, I'm able to shalax a bit... My roommate and I just split on ordering the whole Adobe production Suite, for those of you who don't know what this means, I now have the power to do more, graphics, video editing, etc, It's amazing, I'm gonna dive in headlong.. Adobe After Effects 7 is going to be my new best friends. Our professor also just solidified a deal with Avid to have a certification course taught to us at our school... this is a $1500 course towards a certification that we are getting for $250! For those that don't' know, Avid is a premier editing program, very industry standard, (used to edit Lord of the rings). I'm Psyched!
One of my favourite things to do to relax is to withdraw to my room, my thoughts, music, an Arthur C Clarke or Isaac Asimov story or two and organize my thoughts and mess from the week of hell I just left... The thing that's still on the back burner is the whole internship thing, I haven't heard anything yet from the Washington post, and my school's internship deadline is coming up... I wish they would realize this and just make a decision already. It would be great experience to work there for the summer, but if they don't' meet the deadline, well... yeah... God will lead me to the best possible thing I can do this summer... which of course we all know is.......________________
I will now leave you with one of the most profound quotes I've heard in a while....
Sometimes I wonder, What is my purpose? Why am I here? ...and then I remember, Cereal, I'm out of cereal... aisle 5.
